What is the price of a tummy tuck?

At Guadalupe González Clinic we offer you the highest medical quality at the best price. We take care of everything so that you don’t have to worry about a thing. All these services are included in the price of the tummy tuck:

  • Preoperative study (surgery, nursing, anesthesia consultation and all complementary tests included).
  • Operating room and hospitalization expenses.
  • Postoperative medical check-ups until discharge including pain management for greater comfort.

Preoperative

In order for you to have a tummy tuck safely, we must assess your general condition based on your possible drug and environmental allergies, personal and family pathological history, habitual and past medication, possible previous surgical interventions, toxic habits (tobacco), etc.

It is also necessary to have a general analysis, chest x-ray and electrocardiogram. With this study you will be visited by an anesthesiologist who will verify the results, as well as solve your doubts.

At Guadalupe González Clinic we will also take preoperative photographs, which will help us before, during and after surgery.

Surgical technique

We perform the surgery in the operating room, usually under general anesthesia.

The intervention usually lasts between 2 and 4 hours, depending on the type of surgery performed.

We make a suprapubic incision, similar to that performed in a cesarean section, and the tissues are dissected until reaching the umbilical area where another skin incision is made. Once we have the skin and fat released (what is called dermo-fat flap) it is pulled caudally (towards the patient’s feet) to be able to remove the excess. The navel remains in its original position. If muscle flaccidity is observed, it can be repaired by tightening them with a non-absorbable suture so that the results last over time. Drains are placed. Subsequently, we proceed to approximate by planes to suture the skin and fat with absorbable sutures, this time, and a semi-compression bandage is placed.

This surgery can be combined with liposuction, lipolaser or liposculpture.

If there is only excess skin tissue in the lower abdomen, the incision is smaller and is located only in the upper part of the pubis.

POSTOPERATIVE

The first 24 hours, you must remain in the clinic with the appropriate bandage, drainage and urinary catheter, receiving treatment with analgesic and intravenous antibiotics.

From the second day, you can be discharged from the hospital with oral medication and following the surgeon’s instructions.

You should wear the girdle constantly and avoid abdominal efforts. It is normal for inflammation, pain sensation, occasional stinging and tingling to appear, which you can calm with medication and postoperative treatment as well as cryotherapy.

Between the fourth or sixth day, we do the control in the consultation where we will remove the bandage, the drains and we will start neural therapy for your greater comfort. We recommend the use of a special bandage.

You will be able to incorporate relatively quickly into daily and work life, always following the specialist’s instructions, limiting physical activities for a few weeks, until you recover from the intervention and the surgeon tells you to.

The sutures are removed between 7 – 10 days after the operation and the aesthetic treatment of the scars begins so that in the future they are as imperceptible as possible. Scars appear pink at first. From the 2nd or 3rd month they improve aesthetically. The final appearance of these scars is variable, depending on the characteristics of the skin of each person.

Swelling may be present at first. As this decreases and the tissues give way, they will be placed in their natural position.

About tummy tuck

When will I see the results?

The result of the abdominoplasty can already be seen at the end of the surgery, since in this act the excess fat and skin have been removed and the muscle wall has been tightened if the patient requires it. After surgery, the inflammation-healing processes begin, so the patient may be inflamed for a few weeks. In remission of these, the results of abdominal surgery are maintained over time. Despite this, it is important to maintain a balanced diet and exercise regularly.

Already in the postoperative period, we began the treatment of the abdominoplasty scars so that over time they are hardly noticeable. In any case, these scars are strategically located on the pubis so that underwear or bikini can cover them.
