  • Preoperative study (surgery, nursing, anesthesia consultation and all complementary tests included).

  • Compression garment adapted to your needs.
  • Postoperative follow-up at 24 hours.
  • Postoperative medical check-ups until discharge including pain management for greater comfort.

Preoperative

In order for you to have a gluteoplasty in complete safety, we must assess your general condition based on your possible drug and environmental allergies, personal and family pathological history, habitual and past medication, possible previous surgical interventions, toxic habits (tobacco), etc.

It is also necessary to have a general analysis, chest x-ray and electrocardiogram. With this study you will be visited by an anesthesiologist who will verify the results, as well as solve your doubts.

At Guadalupe González Clinic we will also take preoperative photographs, which will help us before, during and after surgery.

Surgical technique

We perform the surgery in the operating room, under general anesthesia.

The intervention usually lasts between 1 and 2 hours.

There are two basic techniques depending on the expectations and needs of the patient, the fatty autograft or the implantation of a prosthesis.

Fat autograft is a very simple technique that consists of obtaining fat from another area of the same patient (see liposuction or liposculpture), processing it and implanting it at different planes in the gluteal area to reshape the shape.

Another option is to implant a gluteal prosthesis. In this case, a small incision at the level of the coccyx is used to introduce prostheses similar to those used in breast augmentation. The scar is camouflaged by the buttocks, in the anatomical fold.

POSTOPERATIVE

The first 24 hours, hospital admission to the clinic with the relevant bandage is recommended, receiving intravenous analgesic and antibiotic treatment.

From the second day, you can be discharged from the hospital with oral medication and following the surgeon’s instructions.

If gluteal prostheses have been used, it is advisable to use a special girdle the first month. Keep in mind that you should not receive injections in the gluteal area to avoid accidental punctures of the prosthesis.

In the case of fat autograft, it is recommended not to smoke or be in a smoking environment so that as many cells as possible are turned on.

In both situations, it is advisable to sleep on your stomach for a few weeks and take relative rest in the operated area.

Approximately 10 days after surgery, you can gradually return to daily life, as long as it does not involve physical effort.

It is normal for inflammation, pain sensation, occasional stinging and tingling to appear, which you can calm with medication and postoperative treatment as well as cryotherapy.

Between the fourth or sixth day, we do the control in the consultation where we will remove the bandage, drains, if any, and we will start neural therapy for your greater comfort. We recommend the use of a special bandage or girdle.

The sutures are removed between 7 – 10 days after the operation and the aesthetic treatment of the scars begins so that in the future they are as imperceptible as possible.

Swelling may be present at first. As this decreases and the tissues give way, they will be placed in their natural position.

What results can I expect?

If you have a nice butt but not very projected or with little volume, the results are very good.

If a gluteal prosthesis has been used to perform the augmentation gluteoplasty, the location of the scar in the intergluteal fold makes it practically unnoticed.
