Growth factors or platelet-rich plasma

Platelet growth factors are a concentrate of platelets obtained after centrifuging the patient’s own blood. In this way we are able to isolate the platelet-rich plasma. These platelets contain proteins, especially growth factors responsible for tissue coagulation, healing, and regeneration.

This platelet-rich plasma concentrate is injected into the area to be treated. In this way we are able to enhance the synthesis of collagen, hyaluronic acid, fibroblasts, elastin … Growth factors also mediate the external control of the cell cycle, stimulating cell migration and proliferation, increasing the speed of mitosis, cell differentiation and apoptosis, it increases cellular metabolism, contributing to cellular processes for tissue regeneration and wound healing.

This treatment is well indicated to stimulate and prevent the aging of the face, cleavage, hands.

At the capillary level, it acts by improving the vascularization of the hair follicle, promoting the growth and size of the follicle and the hair strand, therefore in cases of moderate hair loss, this technique can stop hair loss and hair can regenerate.

Technique

First, an extraction of approximately 20cc of peripheral blood from the patient is performed. This is centrifuged to obtain platelet-rich plasma. This is activated with calcium chloride to release growth factors and is injected into the area to be treated: face, décolleté, neck, hands, scalp …

The process takes approximately 20 minutes including blood extraction, centrifugation and infiltration.

Very fine needles are used so it can be somewhat annoying in very sensitive patients, but overall it is very well tolerated. Normally the next day there is no discomfort but you can touch areas of small inflammation in the infiltrated area for a couple of days.

The effect is noticeable from the first month and we recommend doing one session a month for the first three months and then carrying out a maintenance treatment consisting of one session every 6 months approximately.

What will the results be?

For example, at the capillary level, the results obtained in various studies show that the hair strand can thicken up to 9.7% at 4 months, with the effect remaining at 8 months with an increase of 6.1%. This can be seen in clinical practice in a decrease in hair loss, an improvement in the density and quality of the hair, practically from the first session.

If the platelet-rich plasma infiltrates the face, décolleté, hands, etc … it manages to rejuvenate the treated area, improving the quality of the dermis and vascularity.
